Great Reference Book for the Dollar

Engineering Mechanics: Statics and Dynamics (Seventh Edition)--This book is a few years old, but the subjects haven't changed. When compared to the newest version (Eleventh Edition), the Chapters and Subtitles occur in the same order. As far as I can tell, the theory parts of the two versions are exactly the same. However, the problem sets are switched up a bit. Some problems and examples are the same in both versions and some are new. I wouldn't want to lug this big thing to class and don't count on the homework questions being the same if your professor uses a different version. But in terms of a reference book that collects dust on the shelf until that one day when it saves your life, this book is a keeper.
As far as content, this series is light on the theory and heavy on the examples. R C Hibbeler does a good job of highlighting the main points and leaving the fluff for another book to cover. I like this series because he makes it easy to go back in time, review a forgotten subject, and find quick examples that support each concept.
