This book is an excellent signal processing reference

I am currently involved in a signal processing project. In this regard, I have been doing some research at the library at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. During this research I ran across Edward W. Kamen's book titled "Introduction to Signals and Systems", second edition.
In terms of the technical content of the book it pretty much parallels most other text books that deal with the mathematics of communications signals and systems. The one attribute that sets this book apart from all the others is the ease of reading.
Kamen's book contains all the mathematics and technical concepts that other communications texts contain but the author presents this information is such a manner that it is more readily absorbed. His presentation gives the reader a sense of immediate familiarity.
I have not read the entire book. I have only read the chapters that are relevant to the work that I am involved in. The book is 706 pages long. It contains 12 chapters all on relevant topics and it has three appendices. One of the appendices is a listing of several signal processing computer programs. Unfortunately because the book was written in the 80's all of the programs are in Basic. It would have been nice to have a C/C++ version of these programs but if my memory serves me the C language was not widely used back in the 80's, and didn't really become popular until C/C++ compilers were written for the PC.
After using the library copy of Kamen's book for three weeks I realized this book was a quality reference and decided it would be a great addition to my personal library. I ended up ordering a personal copy from Amazon. I believe the book is no longer in print but I was able to find a substantial number of used books from dealers who sell through Amazon.
I ended up ordering a hard cover copy of this book described as "Like New" from Samkatbooks through Amazon for a mere $25.00. I received the book about a week after I ordered it and was pleasantly surprised to see that the condition of the book was as good as the day it was printed. In my opinion the condition of this book wasn't "like new" as described by the seller, it was "new". I suppose there are laws that prohibit a used product from being sold as "new" even though it is in pristine condition. Most engineering books of this caliber seem to sell between $100 and $200 but I got this gem for next to nothing. What a bargain this was. I notice that as of this writing two other book sellers (VANA11, and TheBookGrove), are offering through Amazon, a "new" copy of this book for $41.61.
Knowing what I know now, would I spend the money to purchase this book again? The answer is a definite yes. This book is full of applicable information that can be read and understood in a short amount of time.
